We had face paints, dancers, judo and karate, beat the goalie, stalls, bouncy castle, burrgers - and so so so much more. We even had a fly past!
.... all held together by John Flood and The Solid Gold Ban.
And a former member of staff met a former pupil who is a present member of staff, so a good day was had by all!
75th Anniversary
We had a fabulous 75th Anniversary Open Day with 385 folk attending including 162 former pupils. Check here for details.
There was an excellent turnout of parents to our P4-7 Sports Day, which went off without rain!
New path and gate
At last the work is complete of the school.

Mr Campbell in a P1 tie!
P1/1 was learning the "ie" sound and made 23 ties for Mr Campbell.
Here he is wearing one of them
Health Promoting School Status
We are delighted that in the same session as we achieved
our Eco Green Flag, we were also awarded our Health
Promoting School status in recognition of the efforts put in
by staff and pupils to promote healthy lifestyles and healthy eating.
Eco School Green Flag
We were awarded our Green Flag in recognition of the work done
to promote the environment of the school and beyond. We are very
proud of this achievement by the hole school community.
Trim Trail
The Sponsored Fun Run was excellent!
Almost every child completed the 20 laps
(lap size according to the age of the children).
The Nursery had their small lap, while the
P6 & P7 took up to 60 minutes to run their much longer lap.
It was a great day with more than £12,000 gathered in sponsorship.
Well done everyone!
Mr Campbell was in Jerusalem for an education study tour learning from Professor Feuerstein (aged 88!) and the ICELP staff who work with children who are autistic, behaviourally challenged or from a different culture. They develop brain function through a variety of carefully developed exercises. It was very stimulating and challenging.
It was a privilege to have time with the Prof sharing his wisdom and strategies.
If you want to read the record of the visit, he kept a blog here.
Staff change: we have welcomed the following to the school:
Miss Linsey McFarlane to P4/2 covering Mrs Smith's promotion as Acting DHT in another school

Mrs Yvette Hill to the Blue Room in the Autistic Base after Mr Curran's departure to open an Autistic Base in another school
Mrs Rosie Wood for Probationer cover
Mrs Julie Robertson for Probationer Mentor cover
We had "Zoolab" visit our P1 & P2 classes.
They handled all sorts of creatures.
Most were quite happy to do so!
Welcome to our school today .....
.... and long ago!
One of our families brought in two old pictures of the school just after it had opened in 1935. Beside them are pictures taken in March 2001. Spot the difference!
William Keeler from Fairport, NY, USA wrote to say: I am the curator at the Fairport Museum which occupies the former public library which was built with the money left to the village of Fairport by Robert Douglas.Your information about Robert Douglas was very informative especially the picture of him. He never allowed anyone to photograph him here in America and this is the only picture I know of that exists of him.
Please note that we are severely limited in what pictures we can use on the site due to parental requests to not include their children on the web site. We therefore have to check every picture to ensure that individual children are not included.
Our previous practice of going round with a digital camera and taking shots for the site is now impossible. As a result the pages with pupil photographs are updated when there is time to do all the necessary checking. Inevitably this means there are fewer up to date pictures.
